Notly is a privacy-first note-taking and to-do app for iOS and Android. It lets you capture notes, build to-do lists, record voice memos, organise everything into folders, and add home screen widgets — all with end-to-end AES-256 encryption so your thoughts stay yours.

Notly is available on iPhone (iOS 15+) and Android (8.0+). A Mac and iPad-optimised version is on the roadmap. There is no web app currently — your notes live on your device by design.

Yes, completely. Every note and to-do is stored locally on your device first. You can create, edit, and read everything without a network connection. Sync (Pro) kicks in whenever you're back online.

Notly is fully localised in 11 languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Arabic (including RTL layout).

Notly is built for individuals who want a quiet, personal space for their thoughts. It is not a team collaboration tool. There is no shared workspace or real-time co-editing — that is intentional.

Yes. The Free plan is free forever — no credit card, no trial period. It includes unlimited notes and to-dos, 3 folders, core widgets, reminders, and 11 languages. Pro adds unlimited folders, folder lock, cross-device sync, voice transcription, priority support, and more.

Yes. The annual Pro plan works out to roughly 40% less than paying monthly. You are billed once per year and can cancel any time — you keep Pro access until the end of your billing period.

Subscriptions are managed entirely by the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Go to your device's subscription settings and cancel there. You will retain Pro features until the end of your current billing period — we do not pro-rate refunds for unused time.

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their respective store policies. Notly does not process refunds directly. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact the relevant app store support team with your order number.

You can create plain-text and rich notes, checklist to-dos with subtasks, voice memos (auto-transcribed on Pro), and folder collections. Upcoming: tables, sketch notes, and PDF attachments.

Folders let you group related notes and to-dos in one place. The Free plan includes 3 folders. Pro gives you unlimited folders, plus the ability to lock any folder with Face ID, Touch ID, or a PIN.

Notly offers four widget types: a Quick Capture widget (tap to create a note instantly), a To-Do widget (shows your next 5 tasks), a Note Preview widget (shows the last edited note), and a Streak widget (shows your daily writing streak). All widgets come in small, medium, and large sizes.

Yes. Tap the microphone icon in any note or from the home screen shortcut to record a voice memo. On the Free plan, recordings are stored as audio. Pro users also get automatic transcription so you can search the spoken words.

Yes. You can set a due date and time reminder on any to-do item. Notly will send a local notification at that time — no server required, so reminders work even without an internet connection.

The search bar at the top of your home screen searches across all note titles, note body text, and to-do task names in real time as you type. On Pro, search also includes voice memo transcriptions.

All content is encrypted on your device using AES-256 before it is stored or transmitted. We have no way to read your notes — not even in a support scenario. Your encryption keys never leave your device.

Absolutely not. Your notes are never shared with third parties, used for advertising, or fed into any AI or machine-learning model. This is a core commitment, not a toggleable setting.

Yes. You can export individual notes as plain text (.txt) or PDF from the share sheet. A bulk export of all notes as a ZIP archive is available on Pro. We believe your data should always be portable.

Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account inside the app. This permanently removes your account and all server-side data within 30 days. Locally stored notes on your device are also wiped. This action is irreversible.

Yes. You can use Notly in local-only mode without creating an account. Notes are stored only on your device. If you uninstall the app without a backup, they are gone. Creating an account (free) enables cloud backup and sync.
